A booking request tells a DJ about your event and asks whether they're interested. It isn't a commitment and nothing is charged — you're asking for a quote.

## Sending one

Select **Book** on the DJ's profile. You'll need an account for this step; browsing and listening don't require one.

The form asks for:

**Details** — the **Occasion** and an **Event Name**. The name is just for your own reference, so "Sarah & Tom's Wedding" is more useful than "Wedding".

**Date & Time** — when it starts and ends, plus the timezone.

**Location** — start typing the venue address and pick it from the suggestions. A map preview confirms you've got the right place.

**Event Extras** — the add-ons you'd like. These may cost extra or may not be available; the DJ will price them on the proposal.

**Comments** — anything you want them to know.

Then select **Request**.

## Estimated Cost

Above the button you'll see a rough figure — your hours multiplied by the DJ's average rate. It excludes extras, taxes, and fees, and the DJ sets their real price on the proposal. Treat it as a sanity check, not a quote.

## If they're unavailable

If the DJ is already booked, the form tells you. You can still send the request — plans change — but it's usually faster to look at someone else.

## What to put in Comments

This is where you separate yourself from a one-line request. Worth including:

- Roughly how many guests
- The vibe you're after, and any genres your crowd definitely does or doesn't want
- Key moments — first dance, speeches, cake, a specific finish time
- Anything about the venue: an early load-in, a noise curfew, stairs, no parking
- Whether you need them on the mic

A DJ who can picture your event writes you a better proposal.

## After you send

The status becomes **Event Requested** and the DJ is notified. They can accept and prepare an offer, or decline. You can track it under **Events** in your dashboard.

## Asking several DJs

## Changing your mind

You can drop a request at any point before paying. Nothing is charged.
