Below the prices, every proposal has a **Proposal Terms** section. It's short, and it's the part that matters most.

## Expiration Date

> This event proposal is valid until [date].

How long the DJ's offer stands. Pass it without responding and the proposal expires — you'd need to ask for a new one, which may be a different price, and your date may have gone.

If you're waiting on something before deciding, message the DJ and say so. Most will extend rather than let it lapse.

## Payment Structure & Schedule

> The payment structure for this proposal is [Deposit or Full Amount]. The amount due must be paid in full to accept this event proposal and confirm the booking.

**Full Amount** — you pay everything to confirm.

**Deposit** — you pay a deposit to confirm, and the remaining balance falls due 7 days before your event.

## Cancellation Policy

> If accepted, this event can be canceled until [date], for a full refund.

The single most important date in the document. Before it, you cancel and get your money back. After it, what you've paid may be forfeited — the deposit on a deposit booking, the full amount on a full-amount one.

DJs set this themselves, so it varies. Write the date down. Put it in your calendar.

## The other things in this section

**Requisites** — what the DJ needs you or the venue to provide. Parking, power, a meal, storage. Read this properly and check you can actually deliver it, because you're agreeing to.

**Equipment** — what they're bringing. Enough detail to tell whether you need to hire anything else.

**Documents** — the agreements you'll complete. See [Signing Booking Documents](/hc/clients/articles/completing-booking-documents).

**Event Proposal ID** — the reference to quote if you contact support.

## Before you accept

Three things to note down: the expiration date, the cancellation date, and your balance due date if it's a deposit booking. All three have money attached.

## If a term doesn't work

Message the DJ before accepting. Terms are set per proposal, and a DJ can revise and resend. Once you've accepted and paid, they're what you both agreed to.
