You can verify your identity from **Settings → Account**. It's optional for clients.

## How

1. Go to **Settings → Account**.
2. In the **Personal** section, find **Identity Verification**.
3. Select **Start Verification**.
4. Follow the prompts — you'll photograph a government ID and take a selfie.

A device with a camera makes this much easier. A phone beats a laptop.

## The statuses

| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Processing** | We're checking your submission. Usually quick |
| **Verified** | Done |
| **Requires Input** | We couldn't verify you and need more |
| **Canceled** | You closed the session before finishing. You can start again |
| **Redacted** | The session data has been removed |

## If it says Requires Input

Usually one of:

- **The ID photo wasn't readable.** Flat surface, good light, no flash — glare is the most common problem
- **The selfie didn't match.** Even lighting, facing the camera, no hat or sunglasses
- **The document had expired**
- **Details didn't match your account.** Your name and date of birth under **Settings → Account** need to match the ID

Select **Start Verification** again to retry.

## Age requirement

The check requires you to be 18 or over.

## Should you?

You don't need to. Booking, paying, and messaging all work without it.

It can be worth doing if you book frequently, or for a high-value event where a DJ may want assurance about who they're dealing with.

## Your documents

Your ID is used for the check. It isn't shown to DJs, and it doesn't appear anywhere on your profile.

## The DJ's verification
