Once you've found a DJ you're interested in, the next step is sending them an event inquiry directly through DJfindr.

How to Send an Inquiry

  1. Open the DJ's profile at djfindr.com/dj/their-slug.
  2. Click Book Now or Send Inquiry.
  3. You will be prompted to fill out an Event Request Form with the following details:
Field Description
Event Date The date of your event
Start Time When you need the DJ to begin performing
Duration How long you need them (in hours)
Event Type Select your event category (Birthday, Wedding, Corporate, etc.)
Venue / Location Address or description of the event space
Guest Count Approximate number of attendees
Notes Any special requests, music preferences, or additional context
  1. Click Send Request.

What Happens Next

  • The DJ receives your request instantly in their Inbox and on their dashboard.
  • They have 48 hours to respond before the request automatically expires.
  • If they accept, they will build a formal Event Proposal with pricing and payment terms.
  • If they decline, you'll receive a notification and can send an inquiry to another DJ.

Messaging a DJ

After sending a request, a conversation thread is opened in your DJfindr Inbox. You can message the DJ directly to:

  • Ask questions before they build a proposal
  • Share additional event details
  • Negotiate extras or special arrangements

Tips for a Great Inquiry

  • Be specific about your vision — Mention genre preferences, energy level, and any "must play" or "do not play" songs.
  • Include your budget range — This helps the DJ tailor their proposal appropriately.
  • Mention the venue type — Indoor/outdoor, club setup, or home party affects the DJ's equipment needs.
  • Send early — Popular DJs book weeks or months in advance. Don't wait until the week before your event.

Note: You can send inquiries to multiple DJs simultaneously and compare their proposals before committing.
