Messaging a DJ

- Ask questions before they build a proposal
- Share additional event details
- Negotiate extras or special arrangements
Tips for a Great Inquiry
- Be specific about your vision — Mention genre preferences, energy level, and any "must play" or "do not play" songs.
- Include your budget range — This helps the DJ tailor their proposal appropriately.
- Mention the venue type — Indoor/outdoor, club setup, or home party affects the DJ's equipment needs.
- Send early — Popular DJs book weeks or months in advance. Don't wait until the week before your event.
Note: You can send inquiries to multiple DJs simultaneously and compare their proposals before committing.
