Reviewing & Accepting Proposals
When a DJ accepts your event request and builds a formal Event Proposal, you'll receive a notification by email and in your DJfindr account. Here's how to review and accept it. Finding Your Proposal 1. Log into your DJfindr account. 2. Navigate to your Inbox or My Events. 3. Open the event conversation and locate the proposal. Reading the Proposal A DJfindr Event Proposal contains all the legally binding terms for your booking: Service Rate The DJ's base charge for the time block requested. Event Extras (Line Items) Any additional charges for add-ons the DJ is providing (e.g., lighting equipment, sound system, fog machine, early setup, travel fees). These appear as distinct line items so you can see exactly what you're paying for. Payment Terms How the DJ has structured the payment: - Full Payment Upfront — Pay 100% now to confirm the booking. - Deposit + Balance — Pay a deposit now to secure the date; the remaining balance is automatically charged before the event. Cancellation Policy The DJ's specific cancellation terms, including how many days in advance you can cancel and whether the deposit is refundable. Total Cost The proposal shows a clear total including all line items. Accepting the Proposal If you are happy with the terms: 1. Click Accept Proposal. 2. Complete payment using: - Credit or debit card - Apple Pay - Google Pay 3. Once payment is processed: - The DJ's calendar is blocked for your event date. - Both you and the DJ receive a Booking Confirmed notification. - The event status becomes Event Confirmed. Declining or Negotiating - Decline — If the terms don't work for you, decline the proposal. You can message the DJ to discuss revisions. - Negotiate via Inbox — Use the Inbox messaging thread to ask the DJ to adjust pricing or terms. They can revise and resend an updated proposal. Important: Your booking is only confirmed after payment is received. The DJ's calendar date is not held for you until payment is complete — they may accept other clients in the meantime.

Discovering DJs
DJfindr offers multiple ways to discover the right DJ for your event — from structured search filters to AI-powered natural language recommendations. Search (Filter-Based) Visit the Search page at djfindr.com/search. Use the available filters to narrow your results: - Location — City, metropolitan area, or state - Event Type — Birthday, Wedding, Corporate, Nightclub, Graduation, Charity/Fundraiser, Backyard, Bar, Grand Opening, Concert, Holiday, and more - Date — See only DJs available on your specific event date - Genre — Filter by music style (House, Hip Hop, EDM, Tech House, etc.) Search results show DJs who serve your specified area, have your date open on their calendar, and match your selected filters. Discover (Curated Feed) The Discover page (djfindr.com/discover) features curated DJ profiles based on popularity, review score, and activity. This is a great starting point if you don't have a specific genre or style in mind. AI Search DJfindr's AI Search allows you to describe what you want in natural language: "I need an energetic house and hip hop DJ for a rooftop birthday party in Manhattan for 150 people on a Saturday night" The AI interprets your request and surfaces the most relevant DJ profiles that match your event context — even attributes you didn't explicitly filter for. Reading a DJ Profile Once you open a DJ's profile, look for: - ⭐ Star Rating & Review Count — Most important trust signal. Read the written reviews, not just the number. - Verification Badge — Indicates the DJ completed Stripe Identity verification (government ID + selfie). - Profile Tags — Badges like ⭐ Top Rated Talent are earned automatically by the platform. - Genres & Event Types — Confirm they specialize in your type of event. - Service Areas — Confirm they cover your event location. - Mixes — Listen to actual audio/video from their performances. - Starting Rate — Their base hourly rate (final pricing is set in the proposal). - Availability Calendar — Check if your date is open before sending a request.
