Search is at Hire a DJ in the top navigation, or Browse DJs in the menu beneath it. You don't need an account to search, browse profiles, or listen to mixes.

Start with location

The Location box at the top of the sidebar is the one filter that matters most. Type your city and pick it from the suggestions.

DJs set the areas they'll travel to. Searching by location shows you the ones who actually cover your venue — which is why a DJ you found elsewhere might not appear when you search from a nearby town.

Use the venue's location, not your home address, if they're different.

Then occasion

Occasion is the event type — Wedding, Corporate, Birthday, Nightclub, and ten others. DJs pick the occasions they play, so filtering here narrows you to people who work your kind of event.

It's worth applying. A DJ who plays nightclubs and one who plays weddings are doing quite different jobs, even with the same music taste.

Then genre

Genres covers twenty-eight styles, including Christian and Caribbean. Select the ones you want to hear.

A note on how these combine: filters are cumulative. Choosing four genres shows you DJs who list all four, not any of them. If your results empty out, this is usually why — drop back to the one or two that matter most.

Reading the results

Each card shows the DJ's name, handle, badges, and three figures: Location, Average Rate per hour, and how many Events they've completed on DJfindr. Select View for the full profile, or select the card for a quick summary.

Above the list you'll see We found and a count, and there's a Share this search action if you're choosing with someone else.

If nothing comes back

You'll see We couldn't find any DJs that match your search. Try changing your filters. Remove filters one at a time, starting with genres, then rating, then hourly rate. Location is the last one to loosen.

Other ways in

  • Guided Search walks you through it in five steps — see Using Guided Search
  • AI Search lets you describe what you want in a sentence
  • By Occasion, By Genre, By Extra, and By Budget in the menu are pre-filtered starting points
  • Discover → Live Events shows gigs DJs are actually playing — a way to hear someone in a real room before you hire them

Availability

Search doesn't filter by date. You'll find out whether a DJ is free when you send a request — the form warns you if they're not available on your date.
