Two-step verification adds a six-digit code from an authenticator app when you sign in. It protects your account even if someone gets your password.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings → Account → Security → Two-step verification.
- Select the option to turn it on.
- Confirm your account password.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app. If you cannot scan it, reveal the setup key and enter it in the app instead.
- Enter the six-digit code from the app to confirm.
- Copy or download your backup codes and keep them somewhere safe.
You can leave setup partway through and return later.
Keep your backup codes safe
Each backup code works once. Use one when you do not have your authenticator app, then sign in and make sure you still have a working way to get future codes.
Do not share backup codes with anyone.
Sign in with two-step verification
Sign in as usual with your email and password, or a connected Google or Facebook account. Then enter the current six-digit code from your authenticator app.
Select the backup-code option if you need to use one instead. You can also return to the sign-in screen and start again.
Lost your authenticator app?
Use one of your backup codes to sign in. If you have lost both the app and every backup code, contact [email protected] for help getting back into your account.
Turn it off
Go to Settings → Account → Security → Two-step verification. Turning it off requires your account password and a current six-digit code from your authenticator app.
