If Something Goes Wrong at Your Event

Most events run fine. If yours doesn't, here's what to do and in what order.

On the day

Call them first. Traffic, a wrong address, a phone on silent. A call resolves more of these than anything else.

Then message them in DJfindr. Even if you've spoken. It puts a timestamped record against the booking, and that record is what matters later.

Then contact support. Live chat from Help is fastest. Have your Event Proposal ID ready.

Write it down while it's happening

Whatever else is going on, note the times. When they were due, when you called, when they arrived if they did, what was said. An hour later you won't remember precisely, and precision is what makes a report actionable.

If you had to hire someone else or the venue charged you for overrunning, keep those receipts.

Afterwards

Report it. From your event, or through Help using Report Misuse — treated as urgent.

Include:

  • Your Event Proposal ID
  • What was agreed, and what happened instead
  • Times, as precisely as you can
  • Any messages or calls
  • Costs you incurred because of it

What DJfindr can do

DJs on the platform are expected to honour confirmed bookings. Failing to perform or not turning up can carry penalties, and can lead to restrictions on the DJ's account. What applies to your booking depends on what happened and what your proposal and documents say.

Contact [email protected] with your Event Proposal ID and we'll look at your specific booking.

Why paying through DJfindr matters here

This is the moment it counts. A booking paid through the platform has a written proposal, signed documents, a payment record, and a company to take it to. A DJ paid in cash after a WhatsApp conversation has none of that. See Keep Payments and Messages on DJfindr.

Smaller problems

Not everything is a report. Late arrival that was made up, an extra that didn't appear, a genre that missed — raise it with the DJ first. Many will offer a partial refund without being pushed. Your review is also a legitimate and permanent record.

Your review

Write it once you're not angry, and be specific. "Arrived 45 minutes late and the uplighting we paid for didn't appear" helps the next client. "Terrible, avoid" doesn't.
