Date, time, and location are what a DJ prices and plans against. Getting them right at the request stage saves a revised proposal later.
Date and time
Select the date field to open the picker. It asks two questions:
- When will your event start?
- When will your event end?
Pick a date, then a time for each. Clear resets and Change reopens it.
Enter the DJ's hours, not the event's
The most common mistake. If your reception runs 6pm to midnight but a band plays until 8pm, the DJ's hours are 8pm to midnight. Entering 6pm to midnight gets you a quote for two hours you don't need.
Equally, if you want music during dinner from 6pm, that is DJ time — say so.
Setup and pack-down aren't performance hours
DJs handle their own setup and pack-down. You don't add time for it. If you need them there early — for a sound check during photos, say — that's the Early Arrival extra rather than extra hours.
Events crossing midnight
Set the end time on the following day. The picker handles it; just check the summary shows what you meant before sending.
Timezone
There's a Timezone dropdown. It defaults sensibly, but set it deliberately if you're booking a venue in a different timezone from where you are. Everything afterwards — the proposal, reminders, calendar entries — follows this setting.
Location
Start typing the venue address and pick it from the suggestions rather than typing it freehand. The map preview underneath confirms it landed on the right place.
Use the venue address, not your home address. It determines whether the DJ covers the area and what they charge for travel.
If the venue isn't in the suggestions, pick the nearest recognised address and explain in Comments. Field venues, private estates, and new builds are often missing.
If details change later
Before you accept a proposal, message the DJ and they can revise it. After you've accepted and paid, changes need agreeing with the DJ directly — the date and time on a confirmed event are part of what you both agreed. See Messaging Your DJ.

Check the start time, the end time, the date, and that the address is the venue. These four cover almost every problem that shows up later.
