AI Search lets you type what you're looking for in plain language and get matching DJs back.
Opening it
AI Search in the menu under Hire a DJ.
How to use it
Type a description and select Search. For example:
Find an energetic DJ in New Jersey who plays Pop and Country and uses a fog machine
The more specific you are, the better it works. Things worth including:
- Where your event is
- What kind of event
- Genres you want
- Minimum rating
- Maximum rate per hour
- Extras you need
Writing a good one
Bad: good wedding DJ
Better: wedding DJ near Bristol who plays soul and Motown, does MC work, and is under £150 an hour
The second gives location, occasion, genres, an extra, and a budget. It's the same information you'd put into filters, in one sentence.
The other modes
The same dialog has tabs for searching by Location, by Occasion, by Genres, by Budget, and by Extras if you'd rather pick from lists.
When AI Search is the better tool
When you don't know the filter vocabulary. Describing "upbeat but not clubby" is easier than working out which of twenty-six genres that maps to.
When you're combining several things. One sentence beats setting six filters.
When you're exploring. It's forgiving about vagueness in a way filters aren't.
When regular search is better
When you know exactly what you want. Filters are precise and repeatable.
When you want to adjust as you go. Toggling one filter and seeing the results change is faster than rewriting a sentence.
When you want to share the search. Filtered searches have a Share this search link.
What happens next
Results land on the normal search page, so you can refine with the sidebar filters from there.
