You can verify your identity from Settings → Account. It's optional for clients.

How

  1. Go to Settings → Account.
  2. In the Personal section, find Identity Verification.
  3. Select Start Verification.
  4. Follow the prompts — you'll photograph a government ID and take a selfie.

A device with a camera makes this much easier. A phone beats a laptop.

The statuses

Status What it means
Processing We're checking your submission. Usually quick
Verified Done
Requires Input We couldn't verify you and need more
Canceled You closed the session before finishing. You can start again
Redacted The session data has been removed

If it says Requires Input

Usually one of:

  • The ID photo wasn't readable. Flat surface, good light, no flash — glare is the most common problem
  • The selfie didn't match. Even lighting, facing the camera, no hat or sunglasses
  • The document had expired
  • Details didn't match your account. Your name and date of birth under Settings → Account need to match the ID

Select Start Verification again to retry.

Age requirement

The check requires you to be 18 or over.

Should you?

You don't need to. Booking, paying, and messaging all work without it.

It can be worth doing if you book frequently, or for a high-value event where a DJ may want assurance about who they're dealing with.

Your documents

Your ID is used for the check. It isn't shown to DJs, and it doesn't appear anywhere on your profile.

The DJ's verification

Separately, DJs can verify their identity — that's what the check badge on their profile means, and it's a search filter you can use. See Verified and Platinum Badges.
