Mixes and intro reels are the closest you'll get to hearing a DJ before you book them. Both are free to access without an account.
Playing a mix
On a DJ's profile, open the Mixes tab. Each mix is a tile with a play button. Select one and it starts — the player stays at the bottom of the screen as you keep browsing, so you can read their reviews while it plays.
View All Mixes opens the full list if they've got more than the grid shows. Each mix has an info icon for its title and genres, and a share action if you're choosing with someone else.
The intro reel
A short video in the About tab. Not every DJ has one.
Mixes tell you what they play. The reel tells you how they work a room — the energy they bring, how they read a crowd, whether they're on the mic. For a wedding or a corporate event, where the DJ is visible all night, that's often the more useful of the two.
What to listen for
Transitions. Does one track flow into the next, or does the room stop between songs? This is the single clearest technical signal.
Range. A wedding runs from background music through to a packed floor. A mix that's one energy throughout doesn't tell you they can handle the shape of your night.
Whether it matches your crowd. A technically excellent mix in a genre your guests don't know isn't right for your event.
Their mic work, if there's any in the reel. Matters a lot for weddings and corporate events, not at all for a club night.
Comparing DJs
Listen to the same section of each — five minutes in, then jump to twenty. The opening of a mix is where the most care goes.
Also worth asking: is the mix representative? A DJ whose only mix is a peak-time club set may still be great at your garden party, but you'd want to ask.
If there are no mixes
Some DJs haven't uploaded any, or have hidden the section. It isn't a red flag on its own — but it's a reasonable first message. Message on their profile lets you ask before sending a full booking request.
Their posts help too
The Posts tab shows recent events with photos and video. Less polished than a mix, and often more honest about the rooms they actually work.
