Your booking is confirmed and the day has arrived. Here's how it goes.

Beforehand

Your event status stays at Event Confirmed until the start time, then flips automatically to Event In Progress. You don't need to do anything to start it.

In the week before, worth confirming with your DJ:

  • What time they'll arrive to set up
  • Where to load in, and where they'll be positioned
  • What power and space they need
  • Your running order and any key moments
  • Songs you want, and songs you don't
  • Who to call on the day if something changes

All of this is on the Requisites in your proposal. Reading it now beats discovering a parking requirement at 4pm.

Setup

DJs arrive before their performance start time to set up. That's their own time, not billed hours, unless you booked Early Arrival.

What they need from you is usually simple: access at the agreed time, a power source, somewhere to put a table, and a route in that isn't blocked by the caterer.

During the event

The DJ runs the room. Most will happily take a steer during the night — if the floor is emptying or the energy needs lifting, say so.

Guest requests are worth agreeing in advance. Some DJs take them freely, some prefer everything through you, and some have a do-not-play list from you. It's on their Music Requests Policy if they included one.

Running late or overrunning

If the event is running behind and you want the DJ to stay past the agreed finish, request an extension through the app. They set the rate and you pay to confirm it. See Adding Extra Hours While Your Event Is Running.

Have their number

Swap phone numbers before the day. On the day itself, a call beats a message neither of you is checking.

If something goes wrong

If the DJ hasn't arrived close to their start time, call them. If you can't reach them, message them in DJfindr as well — it puts it on record — and contact support. See If Something Goes Wrong at Your Event.

Afterwards

The status moves to Event Complete and we'll ask you for a review. See When Your Event Is Marked Complete.
