You've sent your booking request. Here's what happens next.
Straight away
The DJ is notified, and your event appears under Events in your dashboard with the status Event Requested. Nothing has been charged and no date is held.
What the DJ sees
Everything you entered — occasion, event name, date and time with timezone, venue, the extras you flagged, and your comments. They can also see whether the date clashes with their calendar.
They have two options: accept and prepare a proposal, or decline.
How long it takes
Most DJs respond within a day or two. They work evenings and weekends, so a reply on a Tuesday morning after a busy weekend is normal.
If you haven't heard in three or four days, message them. Requests can be missed.
The possible outcomes
They accept. Status becomes Awaiting Offer — Your event request has been accepted. Awaiting the DJ's offer. A conversation opens, and they'll build your proposal. This can take a day or two; a considered proposal is worth waiting for.
They send the proposal. Status becomes Review Offer. See Reading Your Proposal.
They decline. Status becomes Declined by DJ, with a reason if they gave one. Usually availability. See When a Proposal Expires or Is Declined.
Tracking it
Events in your dashboard lists everything, with a search box and a status filter. Open an event to see its proposals — each shows its Expiration and Amount with View Proposal.

While you wait
Approach other DJs. Your details carry over, and comparing three proposals is a much better position than waiting on one. See Reusing an Existing Event for Another DJ.
Changing your details
If something changes before the proposal arrives, message the DJ. They'll build it from the corrected information rather than sending one you'll have to reject.
Changing your mind
Drop the request. Nothing is charged and the DJ is released. See Dropping a Request or Proposal.
