Profile tags are short descriptors on a DJ's profile. There are thirteen, and they're also a search filter.
The ones DJs choose
Nine are self-selected, up to three per profile:
Mixes · Smooth Transitions · Party Starter · Chill Vibes · Smooth Communicator · Creative Genius · High-Quality Gear · Social Butterfly · Flexible Negotiator
These are how a DJ describes themselves. Useful for matching style, not evidence of anything.
The ones they earn
Four can't be selected — they're unlocked based on activity on the platform:
Early Adopter · Well-loved · Always Active · Top-Rated Talent
These carry more weight, because a DJ can't simply assign them.
Reading them usefully
Party Starter vs Chill Vibes is the most useful distinction. It tells you what kind of room the DJ is aiming to create. Match it to your event — a Party Starter at a drinks reception is a mismatch, and so is Chill Vibes at a 21st.
Smooth Communicator is worth noticing. A large share of poor DJ experiences are about communication rather than the set.
Flexible Negotiator suggests there's room to discuss price, particularly alongside a rate not marked non-negotiable.
High-Quality Gear matters for larger events and outdoor venues where sound coverage is a genuine question.
Top-Rated Talent is earned, and the strongest of the four.
Filtering by them
Profile Tags is a filter in the search sidebar. Like the other filters it excludes rather than ranks, so DJs without the tag disappear entirely.
Worth using to narrow a long list. Not worth using early, since plenty of good DJs haven't set any.
What they don't tell you
A self-selected tag is a claim. Whether it's true comes from the reviews. If a DJ tags themselves Smooth Communicator, the reviews will tell you whether clients agree.
No tags at all
Some DJs hide the section or haven't picked any. Says nothing about quality.
